The
Society's aims and objectives are stated in our constitution.
Here are
some of our more specific aims that our groups are working to achieve:

To
defend the surrounding countryside.

To
oppose the loss of open spaces and playing fields.

To
encourage a good standard of housing in the right places.

To
protect historic buildings, ancient monuments and conservation areas.

To
protect woodlands and help to improve them.
-
To
work for the deculverting and upgrading of our waterways.

To
restore Pann Mill.

To
oppose urban motorways and work for an integrated transport policy.

To
foster an interest in local history and archaeology.

To
encourage children in environmental education.

To
help local residents' associations and individuals troubled by
planning applications.
