High Wycombe - Bourne End Railway Line
PETITION
The High Wycombe Society has campaigned for several years for the former railway line from High Wycombe to Bourne End to be reinstated using modern, efficient, ultra-light railway technology. We are now collecting signatures for a petition to Network Rail, calling for a full engineering assessment to be made of the feasibility of this project.
If you wish to support this petition, then please call in at:
The Environment Centre on Holywell Mead (on The Rye near the open air swimming pool)
Wycombe Hospital Reception, or

We the
undersigned note the lack of public transport between High Wycombe and the
Thames Valley, and the Climate Change emissions caused by 278,000 car miles
driven every day by commuters between Wycombe District and 3 Thames Valley Towns
(Slough, Maidenhead & Reading). We
petition Network Rail to make an engineering assessment of the 9km disused rail
track between High Wycombe and Bourne End, including diversions where the track
has been built on, as the essential first step to developing a frequent through
service High Wycombe/Maidenhead, using energy efficient, very quiet light weight
rail.
