An unusual gift in the form of a “Palm Gavel” was presented to the High Wycombe Society when a group of Society members visited the Freemasons’ Centre in Old Beaconsfield recently. Chairman of the Society, Jackie Kay, received the gavel on behalf of the Society and promised that it would be passed on to her successor in due course.
The visit was part of a programme of local “Behind-the-Scenes” trips, organised primarily for members of the High Wycombe Society. Other visits in the series have included such diverse destinations as the Law Courts, the Swan Theatre, The Arriva Bus Depot and a local Sikh Temple. More details about these events are usually published in the Society’s quarterly newsletter.
