How about a walk with a purpose?
Although we are in the age of email and other electronic distribution systems a good number of Newsletters are still distributed in a paper format.
Our Newsletter distribution is like a pyramid;
- The foundation is made up of the Society members who ultimately receive the Newsletter;
- Above them are the people who deliver the Newsletter to groups of addresses, or rounds (the postmen – a generic term covering anybody who does the job);
- Next up are the few super-postmen who prepare the rounds by counting the Newsletters and delivering them with a distribution list and covering letter to the postmen in their group;
- And at the top, the Crown of the Pyramid, is the Distribution Manager who receives the Newsletters from the printer, splits them into their super-groups, prints covering letters and delivers them to the super-postmen. He also sends some Newsletters by email and a few by Royal Mail.
We are always looking for people to help with the distribution system mainly in the postman role. However, if you could help as a super-postman we would certainly like to hear from you.
If you think that you could help then please contact the Newsletter Editor as shown on the back page of any recent Newsletter (or see here) or contact volunteer@highwycombesociety.org.uk. (Please copy and paste the address into your email program as this avoids spam.)
