At the heart of any successful organisation is a competent individual overseeing its financial activities.
Could you be that person for our organisation?
or do you know someone who could?
The High Wycombe Society is a small charity with typical income in the region of £8k p.a. derived from a mix of membership subscriptions, donations and the proceeds of fundraising activities including Open Days at Pann Mill. Membership is open to all who care about the town of High Wycombe: its past, its present and its future.
Our Treasurer has sadly decided to relinquish her position after three years’ tenure, but is keen to ensure a smooth handover to her successor. The accounts are up to date and in good shape.
The Treasurer’s role
The role includes preparing monthly accounts, processing payments and other related matters, presenting an annual report at the Society’s AGM, and preparing and submitting our Annual Return (once approved by all the trustees) to the Charity Commission, also overseeing the compilation and submission of gift aid claims to HMRC when required.
Could you handle all that in your stride? If so, we’d like to hear from you. To register your interest, please contact the Chairman preferably via email on chairman@highwycombesociety.org.uk as soon as possible, or at least by 11th August 2017.
The Treasurer is an Officer and a Trustee of the Society. The Board comprises three officers (Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary) and currently five other executive committee members. It meets six times a year.
